Program: American Indian Law, Traci McClellan-Sorell
Through 2015, Traci L. McClellan-Sorell offered her knowledge, skills and abilities to others seeking assistance with advocacy, tribal code drafting, grant writing, research, education/outreach, training, and organizational development as President of McClellan-Sorell Consulting, Inc. Prior to this, Ms. McClellan-Sorell served as the Executive Director of the National Indian Council on Aging (NICOA), headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before leading NICOA, she lived in Washington, DC and served as the Legislative Director of the National Indian Health Board, a non-profit health advocacy organization working on behalf of all federally recognized Tribes. She previously taught classes at the University of North Dakota School of Law while serving as a staff attorney for the Northern Plains Indian Law Center at the law school. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley, her Master's degree at the University of Arizona and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Raised in northeastern Oklahoma, Ms. McClellan-Sorell is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She currently writes fiction and nonfiction children’s books, featuring the contemporary lives and experiences of Cherokee and other American Indian children.

Cost: Member $20.00, Non-member $23.00 (includes dinner, coffee, soda, iced tea, or water)
Membership meeting reservations are due by noon Friday, May 6, 2016. HPA is responsible for full payment based on final registrant count submitted. Any registrant unable to attend must cancel no later than noon Friday May 6, 2016. If a reservation is not canceled by the deadline, full payment for the meeting is required.
