  • Attorneys are welcome to attend. Printed materials will be provided. Please note this although this CLE may meet certain MCLE requirements, it has not been pre-approved for MCLE credit.
  • Students in good standing in any area paralegal program may attend.
  • Non-member paralegals, legal assistants, and other law firm support staff are welcome to attend.


Building Your Brand & Protecting Your Rights

This presentation will include:

  • Building your brand and protecting your rights.
  • Understanding different types of trademarks and levels of protection
  • Impact/considerations of trademarks for corporate clients
Who Should Attend:  This presentation will be extremely relevant for intellectual property, business law, and corporate paralegals.  It's also a great way to learn about a new area of law for other paralegals and paralegal students.

About our speaker, C. Blair Barbieri.

Blair is an attorney with Hovey Williams, LLP.  Blair’s areas of practice include intellectual property litigation, trademark prosecution, contractual matters related to intellectual property assets, and the general enforcement and defense of clients' intellectual property rights. She has enjoyed working with the litigation department at Hovey Williams since 2015, assisting with all aspects of litigation in our nation's federal courts and local state courts. She has also gained extensive experience with legal proceedings brought before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

The fine print:

This meeting and CLE is open to all HPA members, and non-member paralegals, legal assistants, paralegal students, and other legal support staff.  Reservations are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Friday immediately preceding the event.  If you need to cancel a reservation, please do so before this deadline.  If your registration is not canceled before the deadline, you will be responsible for the full registration fee since HPA is required to pay that amount to the venue.

Payment may be made online by credit or debit card, or by cash or check at the door.  Please do not mail your payment unless you must do so because of a last minute cancellation.
